Astypalaia is the “bridge” that links Cyclades and
Dodecanesus, which also combining elements from the two islander clusters. Full
tall rocks and hills, with beautiful seashores and graphic villages, she invites
the visitor in a magic travel in light blue Aegean and her white houses. Her
name (that means “old city”) has a lot of interpretations. Island with rich
history, tradition, unique pictures with beautiful white lodges and whitewashed
courtyards with flowers, graphic country chapels she constitutes an ideal place
for quiet vacations.
The island is separated in the “Mesa” and the “Exo” island with a sandy band, steno, with length of 100 meters. If it did not exist this narrow band that links them, Astypalaia would be two separate neighbouring islands. An ideal island for summer vacations because she offers abundant fish, calm and dew.
