Easternly Chios, opposite from Lagkada, is found the
islander cluster of Oinousses. The beautiful city of the island, Aignousa, built
amphitheatrically on a abrupt hill, is constituted by tall traditional and
luxurious houses, with narrow paved with flagstones little streets.
In the island there are a lot of churches and country chapels. The church however that it distinguishes in the center of the city is the beautiful church of Saint Nikolas with a lot of gifts from the pilgrims. Three kilometres north-western from the city, we meet the splendid monastery of Evagelismou.
The place of rest of Evagelismos, the splendid beaches perimetrically the island, in combination with the clean sea, are possible motives for somebody to visit the island.
