The prefecture of Pella belongs in Central Macedonia and
borders on the prefectures of Kilkis, Thessalonici, Imathia, Kozani, Florina and
on the country of Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia. It owes its name to
Ancient Pella and capital of prefecture is the city of Edessa.
The prefecture of Pella is a dowered place with long history, unique natural beauty and many sites that each visitor deserves to see.
Here can anyone admire the Macedonian Graves, the archaeological place of Pella, the roman, Byzantine, Ottoman and ecclesiastical monuments that testify the history of the region. In Pella we can also admire the waterfalls, the rivers, the known lake Vegoritida, the mountains Kaimaktsalan and Paiko and its water biotope that completes the beautiful picture of the prefecture.
